Now, as a team builder, mentor, speaker, author, and entrepreneur, Shannan has become a leading voice in business strategy, risk management, system implementation, and change management. Outcome-driven and unwaveringly focused on her clients’ success, Shannan continues to support our clients through their transformations, supporting every step of the discovery, planning, and implementation processes.
When she’s not supporting our clients and partners, Shannan can be found on the water, in her classic fishing trawler, Happy Our, or spending time with her teenagers, rescue pups, and lovely wife. Together, they love traveling, eating, and enjoying the arts.

A recognized industry leader and client partner, Malcolm has significant analytical data management, planning, and communication experience that ranges from improving operational efficiencies to identifying problems and finding proper solutions.
With his background in IT and operations management, website and database integration, process and office automation, and overseeing technical teams, Malcolm represents a client-oriented, team-focused leader who understands how both major initiatives and smaller projects complement an organization’s goals.
As a former director of operations and a technical team lead, Malcolm combines his specialized skills in information technology systems and programs with his talent for building teams and creating collaboration among diverse stakeholders to guide unique projects and major programs to successful outcomes.
When he’s not solving difficult technical requests, you can find Malcolm hanging out with family and friends, baking bread, perfecting recipes, volunteering, planning the next adventure, or training for the next ultimate tournament.
President, EHR & Healthcare Applications
A renowned health IT leader, Tabitha Lieberman has more than 30 years of experience powering transformational implementations, digital integrations and deployments. For her tremendous industry impact, she was recognized as one of the Most Influential Women in Health IT by the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) in 2021.
Having built and led highly-effective teams at some of the largest healthcare systems in the country, Tabitha brings an on-the-ground perspective to Brightwork – not only does she have a comprehensive view of the current industry climate, but she also uniquely understands organizations’ immediate and long-term pain points, and how IT solutions can help overcome even the most complex challenges.
In her free time, Tabitha loves to cook and bake – and has even been known to deliver delicious treats for go-lives. She also enjoys traveling, remodeling houses, and spending time with family.
Vice President, EHR & Healthcare Applications
Michelle Strawn brings more than two decades of healthcare experience to Brightwork, having previously worked for the nation’s third-largest health system. There, she was responsible for system wide IS revenue cycle and managed care applications, as well as the business informatics teams behind the build, implementation, and support of electronic medical record (EMR) non-clinical applications.
As a strategic leader, she led a multi-state team through a successful build, implementation, and optimization of applications for 1,000+ ambulatory clinics, 60+ acute facilities, and multiple post-acute organizations. She is particularly skilled in the healthcare revenue cycle, ensuring critical access to those in rural areas, and population health management, which also ensures access to all patients as well as chronic care management, quality and safety, public health, and health policy.
Michelle recently earned her MBA from Western Governors University in May 2022. When she’s not busy helping healthcare organizations innovate, she enjoys traveling, gardening, and spending time with her family and pets.
Vice President, Technology & Innovation
Paul is a practiced healthcare CIO and IT executive, with a deep skill set in organization development and leadership. Adept at technology service delivery, strategy development, organization redesign, team building, and IT operations, Paul is also an expert in large-scale EMR (Epic, Cerner, Meditech) implementation, system mergers, and change management plans. Paul brings 35 years of experience crossing software, insurance, healthcare, and energy industries, offering clients an encyclopedic knowledge source, a gifted collaborator, and an IT thought leader who understands their needs and exceeds their expectations.
When he’s not at work, Paul enjoys triathlons, golfing, and skiing, but most of all, spending time with family and friends.
Practice Area Leader - Clinical
Alyson Lewis serves as the Executive Project Director of an expansive software implementation project for a large hospital system. Aly brings has an extensive background in education and training as well as over 10 years of experience in project management. Her role is focused on guiding her team through a smooth and successful implementation of an Epic implementation.
Practice Area Leader - Technical
Lisa Alkin directs several projects for large hospital systems and tribal health organizations. As a former CIO, Lisa has over 30 years of experience in health services administration and management of information systems, including project management, financial preparation and planning. In her role, she helps clients optimize their operations with innovative technological solutions.
Sr. Consultant & PMO Manager
Kristina Brown is a Senior Consultant and the Project Management Office (PMO) Manager for the organization. She brings extensive experience in software implementation, IT project management and maintaining client relations. She is responsible for planning and executing large, complex projects for multiple clients simultaneously. In addition, she provides governance for her team in adhering to approved standards and methodologies.
Senior Project Manager
As a revenue cycle expert with over a decade of Epic experience, Christopher Larson is a Senior Project Manager for revenue cycle application implementation at one of the largest healthcare systems in North America. In his role, he is responsible for access, billing, and HIM, and helps find stand-out people to add to the Brightwork team.
In his free time, Christopher enjoys camping with his family and their two dogs, traveling, and running his 30-year-long Dungeons and Dragon’s campaign!
With over 20 years of Epic experience, Karen Roeckner is a Project Manager for the Ambulatory, Beacon, and the Research teams. She is responsible for all Ambulatory applications including Healthy Planet, Consumer Experience, Urgent Care, Welcome, Kaleidoscope, and Nurse Triage. Karen also has a total of over 30 years’ experience in the healthcare field and is passionate in providing excellent service to all EMR end users and team members.
In her free time, Karen enjoys biking, boating, skiing, sewing/quilting, and spending time with her two adult children who live on the east and west coasts.
Senior Vice President, Strategy and Business Development
Berry Brunk has more than 25 years of leadership experience with companies who have been at the forefront of transforming the delivery of healthcare in the US. He was with Sun Healthcare in 1998 and led development of the $43 million effort to build the first EHR for the LTPAC industry. He then founded and secured private equity and venture capital funding for Seniorcenter.com that developed one of the first interactive patient care, tele-homecare, and remote patient monitoring platforms. In 2010 he joined the team of a disease management start-up that developed a SaaS platform for hospital readmission reduction which in two years raised $21 million and secured thousands of customers. All three companies had successful exits.
He has served on the Advisory Boards of more than ten companies and works with venture capital and private equity organizations to fund start-ups and growth stage companies. Recently he held the role of Consulting CIO with Extendicare’s technology consulting division and was Healthcare Technology Practice Leader with Stantec and led multi-billion-dollar transformation projects. Since 2017 he has consulted with health systems on ways that they can use innovative technology and data analytics to improve clinical outcomes, optimize the revenue cycle, reduce payer cost, and enhance patient engagement.
He has deep relationships with the thought-leaders on both the LTPAC and Acute sides of the continuum of care and is active in AHIMA, HIMSS, CHIME, Leading Age/CAST and the AHCA. He is a frequent speaker at national and regional events on topics such as ACOs, HIEs and the future of care delivery. Berry studied Aerospace Engineering at Virginia Tech where he received his Bachelor’s degree. He currently sits on an Advisory Board there for the departments of Communications and Business and holds a similar position with the Carson College of Business at Washington State University.
