An Executive Director at a $60-billion organization in the middle of a complex merger with a large regional organization needed a Chief of Staff to support her and her team through a large IT system integration. Her team was stretched thin and focused on managing multiple projects within the overall integration program. Every week she led her team through a number of decisions related to the configuration of the new integrated platform. The initiative itself was more than $20 million, and with high visibility throughout the organization, informed decisions needed to be made quickly.

The initiative itself was more than 20 million, and with high visibility throughout the organization, informed decisions needed to be made quickly.

As Chief of Staff, Brightwork supported the Executive Director and her team through several informed decision-making processes. When questions arose of how a new process should be structured, if a new set of interfaces should be implemented, or whether additional budget should be allocated, she worked with the impacted stakeholders to gather requirements, present data, and create documentation. Our consultant used a standard Situation-Background-Assessment-Recommendation format to present findings to her Executive Director and worked with affected stakeholders so the Executive Director could recommend the outcome to her leaders with full support. Every possible scenario within each decision was outlined, assessed, and backed up with data, and included the support of those directly impacted, thus allowing the Executive Director to confidently move forward without future risk to the overall program.
